Do you need vaccinations?

Our Nurses can provide comprehensive travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.

IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ALLOW US AT LEAST 6 WEEKS NOTICE OF INTENT TO TRAVEL!

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete a travel questionnaire. These are either available at the Practice or download the questionnaire below. Once completed, please make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF THE ACWY/HEP B/RABIES/YELLOW FEVER VACCINATIONS ARE NEEDED FOR TRAVEL, THIS MUST BE OBTAINED PRIVATELY AS THIESE ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON THE NHS.

Travel Assessment

It is essential to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel to enable the Nurse to accommodate your request.  If you do not give us the required notice, and we do not have the appointment capacity,  you will be directed to an independent travel clinic. This will mean you will have to pay for the necessary travel vaccinations.

Fit To Fly

Fit to fly letter requests

As a Practice, we are unable to provide statements or letters that individuals are "fit to fly".

This is not an NHS service and the Doctors are not trained, nor indemnified to do so.

Under our private service, we would be able to provide a statement of fact only.  This would be charged at our current private rates.

Pregnant ladies and Fit to fly

As maternity care is now undertaken entirely by the midwifery service with very little GP input and we have no access to the midwifery antenatal records, we advise pregnant ladies with any questions regarding air travel to contact their midwife and consult with the relevant airline.
