Change of Practice Telephone Number

On Friday the 29th July 2016 we changed our telephone number to 01484 516349. Patients can also telephone 01484 503349

In response to comments made via the Friends and Family Test, we now open our phone lines at 7.30am Monday to friday.

Open Access Surgery Monday, Wednesday, Friday Mornings

We have an “open access” surgery every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings (excluding Bank Holidays) If you have ONE URGENT problem (eg, eye/ear/throat/chest problem/rash/unwell children) Please come to the surgery between 7.30am and no later than 9.30am on a Monday and between 8.00am and no later than 9.30am on a Wednesday or Friday to sit and wait to be seen by any one of the GPs working that morning. You will need to check in at the reception desk on arrival to be booked in.

Monday mornings 7.30am to 9.30am
Wednesday mornings 8.00am to 9.30am
Friday mornings 8.00am to 9.30am

DUE TO REDUCED AVAILABILITY OF DOCTORS AND FOR CLINICAL SAFETY REASONS, THE ABOVE OPEN ACCESS SURGERIES WILL BE LIMITED TO 40 PATIENTS ONLY. WE WILL HAVE APPOINTMENT SLOTS TO OFFER PATIENTS ON THOSE AFTERNOONS.

GP Patient Survey Results

This is a survey sent out by NHS England to patients twice a year to assess their experience of the access and quality of care they receive from their GPs. 242 surveys were sent, 117 responded, giving a 48% response rate. This is a summary of results from January to March 2016 survey.

Satisfied with the GP Surgery opening hours 78%
Last GP seen was good at treating them with care and concern: 91%
Lasp GP seen was good at involving them in decisions about their care: 86%
Ease of accessing the GP Surgery by phone: 48%
Good experience of making an appointment: 67%

We are constantly working to improve telephone access by ensuring that 3 reception staff are answering the phones at peak morning times (7.30am to 9.00am) to reduce queue call waiting times.

Data Extraction

Information about you and the care you received is shared in a secure system by healthcare staff to support your treatment and care. It is important that we, the NHS, can use this information to plan and improve services for all patients. The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) would like to link information from all the different places you receive care (eg GP/hospital/community care) to help provide a full picture. Information such are your postcode and NHS number but not your name, will be used to link your records in a secure system.

You have a choice - If you are happy for your information to be shared, you do not need do anything. If you have any concerns or queries, information leaflets are available at the surgery. You can refuse to share this information if you wish, just let the surgery know.

Online appointment booking, repeat prescriptions, and access to medical records

In line with national guidance, on line access is available for booking appointments, requesting of repeat prescriptions and access to your medical record. To register for online access, please see reception with a form of photo ID

Friends and Family Test

Have your say to improve your care. We would like your feedback on the care or treatment you receive at the Practice. Please complete a Friends and Family Test whilst you are at the surgery. Forms and postboxes are available in both waiting areas.

GP Retirement

Sadly, Drs Christopher and Judith Parker retired from Lindley Group Practice end of July 2016 after many years of excellent service. We wish them a long, happy and healthy retirement.

New GP recruitment

Lindley Group Practice has successfully recruited two new GPs. Dr Clayton and Dr Woodhead.

GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (eg. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GP's working in Lindley Group Practice in the last financial year was £65,324 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 3 full time GP's, 4 part time GP's and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

Telephone ordering of repeat prescriptions

We have changed the way our repeat prescription ordering service works. From 1st February 2017, we no longer accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions. There are other methods of ordering:

1. Online access - Order your repeat medication and book appointments online. To register, please see reception with a form of photo ID.

2. Dropping in or posting your medication request to the surgery

Recruitment of New Practice Nurse

Due to the reduction of one of our Practice Nurses hours, we have successfully recruited another Practice Nurse. Her name is Sister Larum

Change of Surgery Opening Time

From 1 September 2017 - ON FRIDAYS ONLY - The surgery opening time will change to 8.00am. This applies to both the surgery door opening and phone line opening.
